Data Deletion

This page explains how users of WordPulse: Live Word Battles (developed by Coutts Consulting, LLC) can request deletion of their account and associated data.

How to Request Account Deletion

To request deletion of your account and data, follow these steps:

  1. Option 1 - Delete in the app (Recommended): The fastest way to delete your account is directly in the app. Go to Settings → Account Settings → Delete Account, then confirm. Your account and the personal data associated with it will be deleted from our active database, and your login is revoked. Some information may persist for a limited period in backups, logs, and analytics and crash-reporting services.
  2. Option 2 - Contact us via email: If you can no longer access the app, send an email to app-support@coutts-consulting.com with the subject line "WordPulse Account Deletion Request" and our team will delete your account on your behalf.
    • Include the email address associated with your WordPulse account
    • Include your username (if you remember it)
    • We will confirm receipt within 2-3 business days and process your deletion request promptly

Note: Account deletion cannot be undone. Once your account is deleted, you will lose access to all your game history, statistics, and progress. In any games you shared with other players, you will appear to them as "Deleted user".

What Data Will Be Deleted

What Data May Be Retained

We delete the personal data associated with your account from our active database. However, some information may persist for a limited period after deletion, including:

We do not control how long our third-party analytics and crash-reporting providers retain their data.

Data Retention Period

When you delete your account, your account and the personal data associated with it are removed from our active database, and your login is revoked. Backups, logs, and data held by our analytics and crash-reporting providers may persist for a limited period before they expire or are overwritten.

The deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

In-App Deletion

Deleting your account directly from the WordPulse app is the recommended way to delete your account:

  1. Open the WordPulse app
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Tap "Account Settings"
  4. Scroll to the bottom and tap "Delete Account"
  5. Confirm your choice in the confirmation dialog

Upon confirmation, your account and the personal data associated with it are deleted from our active database, and your login is revoked. In any games you shared with other players, your name is replaced and you appear to them as "Deleted user". Some information may persist for a limited period in backups, logs, and analytics and crash-reporting services. This cannot be undone.
